On 20 May 2025, IFS Skillnet was delighted to launch its latest research on Learning and Development Preferences in Ireland’s International Financial Services (IFS) sector. Hosted at State Street’s Dublin office, the event brought together leaders from across the industry to explore how we can futureproof talent in a rapidly changing sector.
We were honoured to welcome Marian Harkin TD, Minister of State at the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, who delivered the keynote address. Special thanks also to Michael McLoughlin, Chief Executive of Amárach Research, for presenting the report findings.
The launch featured an engaging panel discussion moderated by Donna Noonan, Network Manager at IFS Skillnet, with contributions from senior leaders at State Street, Accenture, and Amárach Research. The discussion offered valuable perspectives on shaping future-focused learning strategies across the IFS landscape.
The event reflected a strong appetite for cross-sector collaboration and a shared commitment to building a skilled, resilient workforce. As one of 70 Skillnet Business Networks, IFS Skillnet will continue to connect organisations with expert-led learning solutions that are practical, future-focused and aligned with today’s workplace.
We extend our sincere thanks to State Street, for hosting the event and providing a welcoming, professional environment for this important conversation. The presence and insights of our esteemed guests—Mark Jordan, CEO of Skillnet Ireland; Terri Dempsey, CEO and Country Head at State Street; Alex Fisher, Head of Global Learning at State Street; Audrey O’Mahony, Managing Director at Accenture; and Patricia Callan, Head of Sectors and Director at Financial Services Ireland—greatly enriched the dialogue. Their contributions reflected the collective commitment to advancing learning and development within Ireland’s international financial services sector.
