Programme overview

This 1 day workshop is designed for business professionals who wish to enhance critical skills to confidently negotiate and influence others in the workplace and externally. The workshop format is inclusive, collaborative and geared towards group sizes up to 12 participants. 

Learning outcomes:

Through negotiation simulations, group exercises, and self-assessments, participants will:  

  • Explore personal conflict management strengths and challenges; 
  • Learn how to align personality style with greater impact; and 
  • Understand ways to build a culture of trust and respect.  

Prework is a pre-requisite of the workshop.

Modules:

Active learning is applied and participants will use business-relevant negotiation scenarios to: 

  • Test beliefs and assumptions;  
  • Mitigate rational and emotional biases; and  
  • Assess a range of competitive and cooperative negotiation strategies.  

On completion, participants will gain the skills to confidently: 

  • Define negotiation, influencing and bargaining; 
  • Apply a structured approach when negotiating; 
  • Identify the attributes of a successful negotiator; 
  • Understand the role of personality and ways to apply tactical agility; 
  • Communicate clearly and confidently during negotiations; 
  • Negotiate for resolution, consensus and satisfactory closure
