Programme overview

This  90-minute session aims to give managers a high-level overview of the key success factors in managing  performance. There will also be an opportunity to practice giving performance feedback  during the session.

Learning outcomes:

  • Performance management explained- exploration of the three stages in managing performance; clarity on your role as manager, and how this differs to that of the team member
  • Building engagement and performance – how can you use performance management to really challenge people to higher levels of performance and engagement
  • Setting expectations and objectives – giving clarity on not just what people are expected to deliver but how they are expected to behave; applying the SMART acronym
  • Effective feedback:  practice giving performance feedback in a way that encourages people to change what’s not working and continue doing what is working
